DJ-BTMU U.S. Business Barometer up by 0.2%
For the week ending April 10, 2010, the DJ-BTMU U.S. Business Barometer increased by another +0.2 percent and has now grown for eight straight weeks. With +5.6 percent economic growth in the final quarter of 2009 and what’s looking to be about +4.0 percent growth in the first quarter of 2010 the V-shaped recovery thought to be impossible just six months ago is taking shape. We are still waiting for signs that the economy can’t hold its own in the absence of government stimulus (via tax credits and purchases of long-term debt), while high frequency economic data continues to pour in with surprises to the upside.
