ICSC Chain Store Sales up 0.4% in Sept 25 Wk
September sales for retailers continued on its rollercoaster ride as weekly sales rebounded slightly this past week. Overall for the week ending September 25, weekly chain store sales rose by 0.4 percent, according to the ICSC and Goldman Sachs Weekly Chain Store Sales Index. On a year-over-year basis, retail sales also continued to improve and rose by 3.6 percent.
“As the fiscal sales month for September begins to come to a close sales momentum accelerated on a weekly basis as well as on a year-over-year basis,” said Michael Niemira, ICSC director of research and chief economist. “For September, ICSC Research continues to expect monthly sales to be on track for an industry-wide increase of about3.0 percent,” Niemira added
