DJ-BTMU U.S. Business Barometer edged down -0.1%
For the week ending October 25, 2008, the DJ-BTMU U.S. Business Barometer edged down -0.1 percent, and has not posted a gain in eight weeks. Third quarter real GDP was reported to have dropped by -0.3 percent in the BEA’s advanced data release. One month into the fourth quarter, economic growth looks to have built upon that decline. Though credit markets are starting to move somewhat, severe damage to the economy was done in October and won’t be quickly reversed in the remaining months of 2008.
